Cary Epstein
Returning team member Cary Epstein is a 3X IRONMAN and
has competition in his genes, as he is the grandson of world
record holder and physical fitness pioneer Dan Lurie.  Born
and raised on Long Island, NY, Cary is following in his grand-
father's footsteps in both his personal and professional life
as he promotes his famous slogan "Health is your Greatest
Wealth."

Outside of IRONMAN, Cary is an Adjunct Professor of Undergraduate Health Education at Long Island University, a NYC Emergency Medical Technician for Lenox Hill Hospital North Shore LIJ Health System and 17 year veteran of the Jones Beach Lifeguard Corp. In his spare time you can find him coaching “Long Island Express Masters” his very own masters swimming program and teaching CPR, First Aid, and staffing professional event lifeguards with his side business “The Epi-Center”.

Cary also lives by the acronym MACHO meaning “My Actions Can Help Others”.  Inspired and created in honor of the legacy of his father Scott Epstein aka “Macho Man,” Cary and his family are the founders of the newly born not-for-profit organization The MACHO Foundation. The MACHO Foundation is an organization dedicated to spreading the message encoded in it’s acronym.  The foundation will be raising money and awareness for numerous causes around the world.  As a returning member to the 2014 Ironman Foundation Newton Triathlon Team, Cary strives to pass on the MACHO philosophy and illustrate that little things can make a big difference and that you can be someone’s champion.
