Daniel Giblin

My name is Daniel Giblin and I started running one mile a night on June 18, 1999 to lose weight and to become a healthier husband and father. I have been married to my wife Denise for 20 years and have two beautiful smart children Danielle 17 and Collin 15. I lost 35 lbs the first six months and started running road races and coaching my two kids sport teams. After a couple of years my friends told me I should buy a bicycle and learn to cross train and save my legs. I bought a bike and fell in love with it.

One weekend in 2004 I raced a 5K race on Friday night and won some money and the next day I raced another 5K and won it outright and took my weekend winnings and bought a wet suit after friends told me I should give a triathlon a try.  I entered The 2005 Musselman half iron distance In Geneva, NY and fell in love with the sport of triathlon.  I have done eight Ironman Lake Placid triathlons and this year will make my ninth straight. I have done several 70.3 Ironman races including Syracuse, Muskoka and the World Championships in Las Vegas. My goal is to continue to race Ironman races my whole life and hopefully get to race in Kona!
