Andrew Strong

Wondering what it would be like to do a triathlon for the first time, Andrew signed up for the last available race in the 2005 season.  What he didn't realize until the spaghetti dinner the night before was that the race was a half Ironman!  At some point during the race, he was hooked and found his next athletic adventure.

Over the course of the next 7 years and 17 Ironman races later, the Strong family vacations were "conveniently" planned around beautiful Ironman venues.  A four time Kona finisher, Andrew has experienced the best of Ironman and the wonderful people in the sport of triathlon.

Over the past 28 years, Andrew has volunteered his time to serve at-risk youth and, as a lawyer, has spent considerable time working to expand legal services to the poor.  Andrew and his wife Denise were recognized by the Points of Light Foundation as recipients of the National Family Volunteer Award for their work with at-risk youth. The opportunity to combine the sport of triathlon with service back to the communities in which Ironman events occur is very exciting to Andrew.
